Can handle the squaring and dimensioning of the laminated glue-ups, as well as profile shaping of the spiral, curved and straight handrails. Designed to use corrugated back profile knives in a 100 mm dia. head. -- Capacity/Drive: 5" Max. handrail height, 4" max. handrail width, 6-1/2" max. cutter diameter; powered by 7.5 HP spindle motor at 6,200 RPM; spindle has 1-1/4" diameter. -- Standard equipment includes: Automatic starter with motor overload protection; variable feed speed controller; (2) 0.5 HP SUMITOMO Cycloidal gearmotors; 0 - 30 FPM variable speed feed. 2-axis adjustment; cast iron dovetail slides; spindle tilts to 90°; cutterhead guard and UL/CSA electrics. -- Handrails are machined laying on their side. The horizontal cutterhead with profile knives shapes the inside edge first from the top and the outside edge from underneath. -- Vertical spindle position can be used for squaring of the glued edge (bottom of the handrail) with straight knife or squaring and grooving with profile knives. -- Options available: Dynamic braking, Electronic scale for up/down adjustments.
