“I Just Love Our Hurdle Grade Mill”
We bought the 3 Head-Block mill new in 2003 when we upgraded from a semi-automatic mill to increase production and profit. Installation was amazing! We had it in and running in no time! The mill is built strong and simple so its been very easy to maintain. We have only had to replace a few wear parts. When we bought it we thought wed run it 4-5 years and replace it - its been 9 years now and its running as good as it did from day one!

“17 Million BF of Grade Lumber… 14” average dia...
17 Million BF of Grade Lumber 14 average diameter hardwood logs... We currently run four Hurdle sawmills and they give us the versatility to cut cants, ties, grade and feed our thin-kerf grade resaws. Durable, well constructed and affordable with very high resale value, Hurdle has been a big part of our success for the past 25 years. You could spend four to five million dollars building a mill to square logs for a resaw, but why? Hurdle is the MOST cost effective headsaw, no other sawmill can produce like this and keep total capital investment this low! Thats why weve been running Hurdle sawmills since the mid-80s. Currently were producing 32 million BF per year with a 35 overrun on logs 14 and larger with approximately 5248 split on grade and ties-blocking.

You Get More for Less with a Hurdle Mill!
We bought my dads old mill in 2010 and started HBR Lumber, after three years logs were coming in faster than we could saw them, we knew we needed a new mill to increase production. Having grown up with an old O1 and run other mills I knew what we needed, so I lookedat other mills and got quotes and that made the decisioneasy we simply got more with the Hurdle for less money we installed the first 3HB Vertical Edger mill in just two days, the third day we cut a trailer load of lumber by 2PM! We were so pleased with our first Hurdle that when the time came to add a 2HB mill for short logs in April of 2014,we didnt shop we simply called Hurdle!
